The Flying Babalooskis ~ Part 2
Submitted by Laika on Wed, 03/12/2008 - 18:56Mr. and Mrs. Babalooskis---children disguised as retired European circus midgets---meet the neighbors and are thrown a housewarming party that gets a bit out of hand. While this was written as a work of Juvenile Fiction, PART II's depiction of irresponsible lowlife behavior, drug use (far from glamorized), and underage drinking (semi-accidental) may not be suitable for some kids. PARENTAL DISCRETION IS ADVISED...
The Flying Babalooskis ~ Part 1
Submitted by Laika on Wed, 03/12/2008 - 11:05Nine year old O.Z. and his best friend Jade find some money and run away from home together. When they discover that they risk being apprehended by adult authorities at every turn, they adopt some rather audacious disguises. And then things get really weird...

Hooray For Fictioneer
Submitted by stanman on Sun, 03/02/2008 - 17:58I am glad that there is now a site for plain fiction now. Unfortunately for me, I can't seem to come up with plain old fiction. But I must admnit that I have enjoyed Birdsong and Prarie's Children. I will get to the others in time. I just don't want to over burden the comments with mine.
How They Made Those Turkeys Run
Submitted by Laika on Thu, 02/28/2008 - 21:13Nick, a brain-damaged man residing in an Assisted Living Facility has a battle of wits with The Smartest Man In The World, with unexpected results. Rated MATURE, mostly for one rather spectacular instance of profanity...
Prairie's Children, Chapter 3
Submitted by Starla Anne on Wed, 02/27/2008 - 14:48Sometimes women are stubborn -- such as facing a professional gunslinger in the middle of the steet to protect her husband-to-be, having never practiced a "quick draw" in her life. With no hope of winning a gun fight, Ruth intended to prove that she was that kind of a frontier woman.

What are all those editor buttons for?
Submitted by Admin on Wed, 02/20/2008 - 18:15A brief explanation of each of the buttons in the editor bar. This is for the Wysiwyg editor, not the mini-editor for people who prefer to write their own HTML. To use many of the buttons, you have to highlight some text with the cursor for the button to work on. Some of the buttons have warnings with them. Some have hotkeys which I have indicated.

Teasers and editors
Submitted by Admin on Wed, 02/20/2008 - 07:58Teasers are just part of the body of the story, with the end of them marked by the use of the <!--break--> tag. If you don't supply a Break tag, the software will guess how long the teaser is. Sound familiar? :)

She stood on the balcony, the light blazing over her left shoulder to warn off ships with captains still too stubborn to update to modern equipment. Her hair kept annoyingly blowing into her mouth as the wind whipped it around her head -- not at all like you see in the movies where the wind is always in your face and hair billows out behind your head in a cloud that never tangles.
Quarry

She brushed a matted hank of wet hair away from her eyes, wishing she would have had the presence of mind to braid it back before the Hunt. Even through the rain, the trail was clear, as though the animal knew he was more than a match for her. She swung her right leg along as she pushed through the mud, the wooden guides the armorer had sewn into the protective leather over her leg were doing exactly what they were meant to do and prevented her poorly healed injury from keeping her from her duty to family and Duke Ashley. She let her mind wander a bit, as she moved between the trees and brush through the ever more soggy mud.

(With apologies to Charles M. Schultz)
All of the characters in the following story are solely the property of Charles M. Schultz and his estate (We miss you, Chuck!), with the exception of the cameraman. I claim nothing for myself except the thought to put the story together.
One of everyone's favorite things to watch, come the Yuletide season, is A Charlie Brown Christmas. But did you ever wonder what happened behind the scenes?
The Inverse Corollary of Sturgeon's Law
Submitted by Admin on Tue, 02/19/2008 - 02:36The blogging phenomenon is unprecedented in history. People used to write letters but I think very few letter writers ever had the output of even the average blogger today.
